Friends of Mayespark

Have you heard of the expression "It takes a village to raise a child?" Friends of Mayespark believe that the results of working together as a community are invaluable to our children's education. More than 30 years of research has proven that children do better when parents are involved within the life of a school.

Our Vision

Children at Mayespark Primary School are happy and make the world a better place.

Our Mission

To bring together our diverse community to give our children the experiences and values they need to make the world a better place.

Our Goals

  1. To create an environment where parents and staff can come together to plan activities and events that will positively impact our children.

  2. To effectively engage with the wider community for the benefit of the whole school.

  3. To provide the school with the right tools to that they can give our children the best education.

  4. To make the school a fun place to be.

Events & Fundraising

Since its launch, Friends of Mayespark have raised money to support a variety of projects within our school. These include, our outdoor gym, class sets of books, a new mural in the back playground, soft furnishings for our reading cabin, new wet play boxes and lots more! Previous events include: car boot sales, Christmas Fayres, summer fayres, movie nights, discos, parent and toddler group, MacMillan Coffee mornings and many others!

One of our most recent events was family camping and great fun was had by adults and children alike! We camped on the school field for one night only but in that time we managed to squeeze in so many different activities including, board games, soft archery, badminton, a tug of way and of course toasting marshmallows on a campfire!
